Patricia Pasbrig lived in many places through the years...and though each at different stages of her life, art was always in her heart. Creativity never stopped, but her hearing slowly did, eventually becoming deaf for 20 years. Painting was her therapy…. paintings became the words she could not hear or say.  

Patricia was blessed to be able to get a Cochlear Implant enabling her to hear and converse with others! With her new "ear" she found self-confidence again by taking art classes, meeting other artists, and volunteering at Milan Art Institute while learning to be social again. During this time Patricia loosened her brushstrokes, learned different techniques, and established herself as an artist.

Patricia’s passion for texture came from knowing a deaf and blind man, who felt one of her paintings with his hands. He examined the painting, looked up and signed, “Patricia, you do a good job wiring, and the sunflower is beautiful!” She had not told him it was a sunflower. From that day on she used texture to convey both visual and touch communication in her paintings.  Texture gives an impressionism style that is a manner of sculpture and realism, mixed with a hint of abstract, and by using all types of media, gives Patricia a new style - Contemporary Impressionism Realist.

Another relocation move, another Cochlear Implant to have bilateral hearing…. Patricia still loves the social part of her life, sharing her art knowledge with other artists, learning new art techniques, painting commissioned paintings, and giving free art lessons to her over 55 community all the while making new friends.

Patricia is ready to settle down, start marketing herself, and enjoy life as an artist. Her dream is becoming a reality!
