In my work I show the untamed spirit of my state, both above and below the water. The challenge of pleinair keeps me honest. To paint it how I see it, bright and mysterious, always fluid and changing. Most of the time it’s wet into wet, outdoors with oil paint and plenty of bug spray. I am constantly amazed and humbled by the diversity and resilience of the world all around me.
The search for my perfect painting has led me to a style tipping towards abstraction. My goal is to say more with less. Like golf, the fewer strokes the better.
